At Astonishing Yorkie Home, we are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our puppies. We provide a comprehensive one-year health guarantee for all our Yorkshire Terrier puppies to give you peace of mind when bringing home your new furry family member. All puppies purchased come with a one-year health guarantee. Within 10 days of purchasing your new puppy, you must take him/her to a licensed veterinarian for an examination. If the veterinarian determines, within 10 days of purchase, that your puppy is clinically ill or has died from an injury sustained or an illness likely contracted on or before the date of sale and delivery, you have the following options:
1. Return the Puppy: You may return the puppy for a full refund of the purchase price.
2. Exchange the Puppy: You may exchange the puppy for another puppy of equal value, subject to availability.
3. Reimbursement for Veterinary Fees: You may choose to keep the puppy and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the purchase price of the puppy.
Conditions of the Guarantee
• The puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of purchase.
• A written statement from the veterinarian, detailing the diagnosis and findings, must be provided.
• The puppy must not have been neglected, mistreated, or injured after the sale.
• The guarantee does not cover any health issues caused by accidents, injuries, or illnesses contracted after the date of sale.
Puppy Purchase Agreement
By purchasing a puppy from us, you agree to the following terms:
1. Veterinary Examination: You must take your puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of arrival to ensure they are healthy and do not require immediate medical attention. This initial visit helps identify any issues that may have arisen during shipping and establishes a relationship with your veterinarian.
2. Disease Exposure: We are not responsible for any exposure to diseases after the puppy has left our possession. Please be cautious about where you take your puppy and who handles it. Avoid exposing your puppy to areas with a high risk of disease. Treat your puppy as you would a newborn baby.
3. Guarantee Validation: To validate the health guarantee, your puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian at your expense within 48 hours of arrival. This examination should confirm that your puppy was healthy upon arrival. If any signs of illness are present, the puppy should be taken to the vet immediately.
4. Health and Vaccinations: Your puppy has undergone a veterinary check and received a health certificate prior to shipping. They have received at least their first set of vaccinations and have been dewormed. However, young animals are susceptible to worms and require ongoing deworming. Follow-up vaccinations and deworming are essential for your puppy’s health.
5. Congenital or Hereditary Defects: If your puppy is diagnosed with a life-threatening congenital or hereditary defect by a veterinarian, provide us with a vet-signed statement. The puppy will be replaced with the first available puppy of equal value. The original puppy must be returned before a replacement is provided.
6. Veterinary Bills: The breeder is not responsible for any veterinary bills incurred by the purchaser.
7. Third-Party Sales: This guarantee is null and void if the puppy is sold to a third party or if normal precautions are not taken.
8. Hypoglycemia: Smaller breeds are prone to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). It is the new owner’s responsibility to monitor the puppy’s sugar levels and take appropriate action if necessary. The breeder is not responsible for issues resulting from neglect of this condition.
9. Medical History: The new owner is aware of the puppy’s medical history and accepts it. The new owner is responsible for obtaining veterinary care when needed and for all associated costs. From the time the puppy leaves the breeder’s possession, the purchaser assumes all responsibility for veterinary bills and care. If the puppy dies, the breeder has the right to request an autopsy at the purchaser’s expense. If the death is determined to be the breeder’s fault based on lab results from a licensed veterinarian, the puppy will be replaced.
10. Replacement Puppy: If a replacement is necessary, the breeder will provide a healthy puppy of the same quality as soon as one is available. The new owner is responsible for all shipping charges for returning the first puppy and for shipping the replacement puppy. If the purchaser chooses not to accept a replacement, the health guarantee is null and void.
11. Immunizations and Deworming: We work closely with our veterinarians to ensure the health of our puppies. All vaccinations and deworming are administered according to a vet-recommended immunization program. It is important to continue vaccinations and deworming as recommended by your veterinarian. Over-vaccination or neglecting immunizations can harm your puppy’s health.
12. Health Certificate: Our puppies will have a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and will be vet-checked before leaving. While we do everything possible to ensure the health of our puppies, our health guarantee does not cover “kennel cough,” coccidia, diarrhea, collapsed trachea, giardia, open fontanel, or parasites.
